Frequently Asked Questions
Global sport management is an examination of the business of sports from an international perspective. The MS in Global Sport curriculum examines sports industry trends around the world and focuses on mega and major games on the continents of Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, South America, and North America. The goal is to prepare students for careers as global citizens in the sports industry.
Because sports are universal, global sport jobs are available across the international sport business industry. Tisch Institute alumni have secured jobs in the following international sports industries: eSports management, sports business development, sports analytics, sports media, sports technology, and integrated sports marketing and communications.
The MS in Global Sport is offered as a partially online program, affording students the option of completing the majority of the course curriculum from their home city, and joining us for up to four, one-week, in-person residencies at numerous global NYU locations. Additionally, students have the option to complete up to three in-person courses at our NYC campus location to increase their immersion in the sports capital of the world.
During the four, one-week residencies, students can expect to meet with local sports industry professionals in the countries in which the residency is offered, and tour sports venues and sites, gaining a deeper understanding of how sports affect the local economy. Additionally, they will participate in academic and cultural sessions throughout the visit.
The residency fee for the program will cover the cost of the housing and local travel, as well as some meals. All students are required to make their own travel arrangements to and from the residency location.
