The NYU SPS Human Capital Management department is proud to announce the launch of a scholarship established in honor of one of our most trailblazing recent alumni from the MS in Executive Coaching and Organizational Consulting (ECOC) program.

Yujia Zhu, a visionary changemaker and founder of For A Safer Space (FASS)—the world’s first fully AI-driven nonprofit—has dedicated her life to advancing holistic, accessible, and equitable human care through bold innovation. A proud Chinese-Canadian originally from Nanjing, China, Zhu is also the creator of the first AI-powered human care platform offering unlimited, free support globally.

Drawing on over a decade of experience in humanitarian leadership, systems thinking, and digital advocacy, Zhu has made lasting contributions across sectors—from introducing policy reforms in Toronto and championing mental health access in Canada, to shaping global equity efforts at the United Nations. Her pioneering work blends emotional intelligence with cutting-edge technology, challenging traditional nonprofit models and offering a radical, mission-first approach to public service.

The Future of Work Innovators Scholarship is a celebration of this spirit. It aims to support future ECOC students who share a commitment to compassionate leadership, innovative thinking, and social justice. Recipients will be selected based on their dedication to using coaching and consulting as tools for inclusive change and meaningful impact. In establishing this scholarship, Zhu hopes to empower a new generation of leaders ready to reimagine how we care for one another—within organizations and across the world.

The ECOC program helped me transform not just how I lead, but why I lead. My hope is that this scholarship opens doors for others to lead with courage, clarity, and compassion.
