  • Albert: In order to intentionally integrate pronouns in our everyday practices here at NYU, the Office of Global Inclusion, Diversity, and Strategic Innovation, and the Office of Enrollment Management have worked in partnership with students, faculty, and administrators to develop and implement pronoun options in Albert.

  • Zoom: Each community member can choose to display their pronouns and a preferred/chosen name in NYU Zoom meetings, as long as you add and save that information in the Display Name field in your Zoom profile and log into your NYU Zoom account at nyu.zoom.us before joining meetings.

The Faculty Toolkit on Digital Inclusion synthesizes key research in the fields of inclusive teaching, online teaching, and teaching and learning in order to provide faculty with concrete strategies they can incorporate into their teaching practice. Each section provides an overview, strategies, and further resources for each topic area. If you have suggestions or recommendations regarding the Toolkit, please email us at globalinclusion@nyu.edu and include: Faculty Toolkit on Digital Inclusion in the subject line.

GIDBEA

The NYU SPS IDBEA Committee has introduced a new dialogue series on GIDBEA topics for students to engage in these important conversations in community throughout the academic year. Below are the initial offerings. For more information on when the next sessions will be offered, please contact sps.inclusion@nyu.edu.

  • Social Identity, Privilege, Intersectionality Dialogue - Our social identity affects how we relate with the world and each other. Certain social identities come with privilege - unearned social power granted to those in dominant groups. These forms of privilege intersect in complex and nuanced ways to form powerful systemic structures that continue to oppress marginalized groups. In this interactive dialogue, participants will reflect on their own social identities and how they intersect, forms of privilege, and taking actions steps to create change in their own spheres of influence.

  • Let's Talk Microaggressions Dialogue - “What are microaggressions? How do microaggressions shape how we perceive race, class, sexual orientation, gender, and other social identities? What are some strategies you can use to address microaggressions?"This session is an interactive workshop and includes collaborative dialogue around understanding, preventing, and addressing microaggressions.
