While some students crave time in a physical classroom with their peers and professors, Likourezos finds the asynchronous model of online learning much more impactful. “I find that learning asynchronously is much more enriching. Having to teach myself course material while staying motivated, disciplined, and focused has transformed me into a more successful student,” she says.

Online learning hasn’t stopped Likourezos from taking full advantage of everything SPS has to offer, either. She became the social media chair of the Student Association for Applied Studies (SAA), sharing posts about upcoming events and engaging with peers virtually. “I have enjoyed being a SAAS officer and recently accepted the offer to become the Association’s vice president. Additionally, I attend virtual SPS events to engage with the SPS community,” she adds. Like many other online students, joining clubs and groups on campus is a fantastic way to stay connected to the larger SPS community.
