<p>Rajamma Krishnamurthy, a seasoned expert in human resources (HR) technology and artificial intelligence (AI), brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role at NYU SPS as an instructor in the <a href="/content/sps-nyu/explore/degrees-and-programs/ms-in-human-capital-analytics-and-technology.html" title="MS in Human Capital Analytics and Technology">MS in Human Capital Analytics and Technology</a> (HCAT). With a background in mathematics and operational research, she has spent over two decades working in HR technology, ultimately leading her to SPS. We were delighted to learn more about Krishnamurthy's background and her experiences as a professor.</p>

<p>Krishnamurthy began her academic career with an undergraduate degree in mathematics, followed by a graduate degree in operational research. She started out as a developer, where her natural affinity for coding quickly became apparent. Then, she transitioned to a product leader role, bridging the gap between business and technology in software development. Over the past twenty years, she has specialized in HR technology, enabling various HR functions across enterprises, and her focus has recently shifted towards the application of AI in enterprise settings, including HR.</p> <p>Three years ago, Krishnamurthy joined NYU SPS as an advisor for the MS in Human Capital Analytics and Technology program. Her involvement has since grown, leading her to teach her favorite subject, HR systems.</p>

<p>Krishnamurthy's love for teaching has been constant throughout her life. She shares, &quot;It gives me great pleasure to teach what I know and do while learning from my students.&quot; Teaching also allows her to stay current with industry developments while helping students understand complex concepts and apply them in their careers. Her approach emphasizes both the subject matter and the diverse career opportunities available in the HR technology space.</p> <p>Interacting with students from various backgrounds has been a rewarding experience for Krishnamurthy. She focuses on providing practical knowledge and encouraging students to explore different career paths, and the feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive.&nbsp;</p> <p>&quot;The gratifying results have been when students report back on how they have been able to apply what they learned at their places of work. Additionally, it makes me really happy when a student tells me that they have decided to choose a different path in their career that they had not thought about before this class.&quot;</p> <p>Another satisfying aspect of Krishnamurthy's work in the classroom is seeing students grasp new concepts in technology, systems, data, and AI. These insights often lead to immediate applications in their work or new career aspirations.
