Jeremy Reese is one of them, and we were excited to catch up with him to see how he's applying what he learned at NYU to the real world.</span></p>

<p><span class="p-body">Born and raised in New Orleans, Jeremy Reese's connection with NYU began long before his graduate studies. He almost attended the university for his undergraduate degree but chose to study upstate, knowing he would move to New York City after graduation. When it came time to pursue a master's degree, NYU was his first choice. &quot;The MS in Project Management degree was just taking off and was the perfect fit for me,&quot; he explains. Reese&nbsp;was drawn to the program because project management transcends industries and has become one of the most vital fields in business today.</span></p> <p><span class="p-body">Moving from soulful and jubilant New Orleans to NYC was a drastic transition, but Reese&nbsp;wouldn't have it any other way. &quot;I love both places and do consider both of them home,&quot; he shares. Considering the wealth of opportunities available for project management professionals, placing himself at the center of everything in NYC was a no-brainer.</span></p>

<p><span class="p-body">Reese&nbsp;describes his time at NYU SPS as nothing short of transformative. Despite the challenges of working 40–50 hours a week while pursuing his master's, he reflects positively on the experience. &quot;I couldn't be happier with my experience at NYU SPS; I'm still quite close with many members of my cohort and still use so many of the lessons and tools in my work today,&quot; he says. Reese's leadership skills shone through as he served as the president of the&nbsp;<a href="https://engage.nyu.edu/organization/sps-project-management-student-network" title="Project Management Student Network (PMSN)">Project Management Student Network (PMSN)</a>&nbsp;and as a member of the&nbsp;<a href="https://engage.nyu.edu/organization/sps-graduate-student-council" title="SPS Graduate Student Council">SPS Graduate Student Council</a>. His proudest moment was being chosen to deliver the graduate student speech at SPS Convocation.</span></p> <p><span class="p-body">Like many SPS students, Reese's hands-on learning experience included a capstone project. He focused on building a STEM website for NASA's education program, where he worked directly with an astronaut and a NASA educator. Reese&nbsp;and his team were able to grasp the scale and impact of real-world initiatives, an experience that stands out as one of the most impactful of his academic career.</span></p>

<p><span class="p-body">Currently, Reese&nbsp;works at H&amp;M Group, where he leads global learning &amp; development strategy and operations. His education at NYU SPS has been instrumental in his career success.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span class="p-body">Reese&nbsp;attributes his successes to careful planning, diligence, and consistent results. While he acknowledges that most challenges can be anticipated with proper planning, he admits that starting a new role during the pandemic was an unexpected challenge. This experience has influenced his approach to onboarding new employees and understanding the critical touchpoints that organizations must focus on.</span></p> <p><span class="p-body">As Reese&nbsp;looks to the future, he is focused on furthering his career in the people &amp; culture and human resources space. &quot;I'll definitely be eyeing some chief people officer [and] chief human resources officer roles in the coming years,&quot; he shares. His ambitions are clear, and his path forward is paved with the skills and knowledge he gained at NYU SPS.</span></p>

<p><span class="p-body">Reese's advice for incoming NYU SPS students is both empowering and practical: &quot;Stay true to who you are and remember that everything you need to succeed is already within you. That doesn't mean you always need to go it alone; you have to be humble enough to ask for help when you need it and discerning enough to know when you can manage something completely on your own.&quot;</span></p> <p><span class="p-body">Reese's unwavering commitment to growth has taken him far in his career. When he's not setting his sights on his next professional milestone, his interests range from playing and watching tennis to cooking, yoga, and running marathons.
