<p>Harrison Koeppel, originally from Palm Beach, Florida, had always harbored a keen interest in real estate. During high school, his passion was fueled by his economics and debate classes, and his choice to pursue a <a href="/content/sps-nyu/explore/degrees-and-programs/bs-in-real-estate.html" title="Bachelor's in Real Estate">BS in Real Estate</a> at NYU SPS was an easy one. Determined to place himself at the center of the industry, Harrison knew that choosing the premier institution for studying real estate was the best way to set himself apart. &quot;I didn't want to be one of the millions of students with degrees in political science or economics,&quot; Koeppel says</p>

<p>As a student at NYU, Koeppel made it his mission to make the most of his four years. He took full advantage of the academic and social opportunities available, balancing coursework, work, and active participation in student organizations. As President of the Schack Real Estate Club (SREC) during his senior year, Harrison played a pivotal role in enhancing the student experience. &quot;Contrary to the myth that NYU is a difficult school socially, I constantly had social, industry, and academic events to go to with friends at Schack,&quot; he adds.</p> <p>His packed schedule included rigorous classes that awarded him the practical experience he came to NYU for. Harrison cites the advantages of being in New York City, from flexible class schedules to networking opportunities with top industry professionals. &quot;NYU provided me with several advantages going into the workplace,&quot; specifically the technical education, speaker series, and industry summits he attended as a student.</p>

<p>One of Koeppel's proudest achievements as a student was spearheading the creation of the Schack Student Summit, an all-day real estate conference featuring some of the industry's top speakers, including Amir Korangy, Bob Knakal, and Stefan Soloviev. This event, which took months of planning and coordination, is an example of Koeppel's leadership and dedication to the <a href="/content/sps-nyu/about/news-and-ideas/articles/thought-leadership/schack-institute-of-real-estate.html" title="Schack Institute of Real Estate">Schack</a> community. Since graduating, Koeppel has continued to build on the foundation laid during his time at NYU SPS.</p>

<p>He recently had the opportunity to tour JP Morgan's new Park Avenue headquarters while it was still under construction—an experience that left a lasting impression. &quot;It may have just been the fact that I was on an open construction site taller than the Empire State Building, but I've never been so impressed by a building,&quot; he reflects.</p>

<p><span class="p-body">Koeppel's career is now taking an exciting turn as he works on a US Presidential campaign and prepares to attend law school to further study real estate and property law. His time at NYU Schack has provided him with the skills, knowledge, and network to thrive in the competitive world of real estate. His advice to incoming students? &quot;Join the SREC and show up to as many events as you can.
