<p><span class="p-body">Rebecca Bodtmann considers herself a Jersey girl through and through. Growing up in a small town not too far from New York City, she developed an early love of sports simply playing them with her father. She has fond memories of participating in gymnastics and going to Yankees games. Throughout college, she knew she wanted to pursue my career in sports.</span></p>

<p>Today, she is the talent manager at Athleta. Her time at NYU prepared her for this position in many ways. “From all the classes I took to all of the professors and advisors who helped steer me in the right direction, I was lucky,” she revealed. “I became an event marketing assistant at the New York Red Bulls as a student, which helped me to find my way to my current role three years ago. Looking back, it’s clear I took the right path.”</p> <p>Graduating during the peak of the pandemic, it was rough to get a full-time job at first. “Having that assistant job at NYRB taught me about time management, people management and alot about myself,” she recalled. “I was able to bring those skills with me to my current job, which allowed me to go from a seasonal part time employee to a full time manager. The knowledge I learned from NYU still helps me today.”</p>

<p><span class="p-body">Bodtmann has many fond memories of her at NYU—visiting the Children’s Hospital with the goalkeeper of the NYRB Luis Robles, going to the 2026 FIFA World Cup Reveal in New York and New Jersey, working the New York Marathon as part of a class assignment, and of course graduating from a prestigious institution during one of the most unprecedented times.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span class="p-body">“Savor every moment you have at NYU SPS, because you never know what is going to happen next,” urges Bodtmann. “One moment my friends and I were celebrating passing our test and the next time we saw each other was on Zoom during quarantine.”</span></p> <p><span class="p-body">Ready to take your place at the heart of all things sports business?
