Morgan Baker is a current student who transformed her passion for sports into a booming career, and we recently caught up with her to learn more about her background and experience so far in the program.</span></p>

<p><span class="p-body">Baker is originally from Boise, Idaho, but her passion for sports and relentless pursuit of opportunities brought her to the bustling East Coast. Growing up a dedicated sports fan, her love for the game goes back as far as her birth—the day before the Super Bowl, no less—and has been a constant throughout her life.</span></p> <p><span class="p-body">When Baker began her search for a master's program in sports, the MS in Global Sport at NYU caught her eye. As someone who works full-time, she needed an online program with flexible learning options, but she also craved real human connection—something many online programs lack. For her, the MS in Global Sport program was the perfect balance, offering a unique way to engage with both academic coursework and real-world global experiences. &quot;There was just no other program like it,&quot; she reflects. &quot;It just clicked that this program was perfect for me and also happened to be at my dream institution.&quot;</span></p> <p><span class="p-body">Looking back, one of her favorite sports memories was watching FC Barcelona at Camp Nou in 2016, during the era of Messi, Suarez, and Neymar. &quot;The passion and atmosphere were unmatched,&quot; Baker recalls. &quot;It was one of those pinch-me moments and I will cherish [it] for a lifetime.&quot; This memory serves as her reminder of the power of sports to create these kinds of experiences.</span></p>

<p><span class="p-body">Her time at NYU has been filled with invaluable opportunities, both in and out of the classroom. Baker speaks highly of the incredible network of faculty, alumni, and guest speakers, all of whom were eager to share their knowledge and provide guidance. But it's the relationships she formed with her cohort that she treasures most. &quot;We were 18 people from all over the world and became very close. The community and relationships formed throughout the program are the kind that stick with you forever,&quot; she says.</span></p> <p><span class="p-body">The hands-on learning opportunities throughout the program left a lasting impression on Baker. She recalls the four global residencies she attended—New York City, Abu Dhabi, Belo Horizonte, and London—as once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Immersing herself in the local sporting cultures and interacting with professionals from different countries broadened her understanding of how sports are viewed and marketed across the globe.</span></p>

<p><span class="p-body">Baker's goal after graduation is to continue working in sports marketing, where she can help others experience the joy and connection that sports bring. She's passionate about building campaigns and events that positively impact both fans and the sports industry as a whole. Her dream is to make a difference in the world of sports by fostering meaningful connections and creating unforgettable fan experiences.</span></p> <p><span class="p-body">As someone who looks to powerful women in the sports industry for inspiration, Baker is encouraged by the strides women have made in what has traditionally been a male-dominated field. Faculty members at NYU and other successful women in executive positions have inspired her to stay confident, know her worth, and keep pushing forward, especially in situations where she might be the only woman in the room.</span></p>

<p><span class="p-body">For future students entering the MS in Global Sport program, Baker shares her advice. &quot;You can't compare where you are to someone else because this is your journey.&quot; She urges students to stay organized, be curious, and build a support system with classmates.
