Zihan Yan, founder and CEO tells us more about the business.</i></span></p> <p><span class="p-body"><b>What product or service does Gulch offer?</b><br> Gulch is a real-estate tech company that manufactures modular, high-tech, environmentally friendly, affordable and customizable housing units.</span></p> <p><span class="p-body"><b>How did you come up with the idea for this business?</b><br> I believe housing is a human right and lies at the root of health, wellness, and prosperity. I feel passionately that the housing crisis “Gordian Knot” must be solved!</span></p> <p><span class="p-body"><b>Why did you decide to participate in the HI Hub Incubator program?</b><br> The HI Hub Incubator program can help a new business keep focus and grow in the right direction.&nbsp; It can also make sure all the investors see the best in Gulch.</span></p> <p><span class="p-body"><b>What do you enjoy most about creating your own startup business?</b><br> It is what I imagine being a father is like for the first time! You need to learn everything from beginning: dressing, settling, playing, bathing and nappy changing… it is exhausting. But at the end of the day, it makes you feel proud.</span></p> <p><span class="p-body"><b>What advice would you give to someone contemplating founding a startup?</b><br> Don't hide your ideas.</span></p> <p><span class="p-body"><b>What is something you learned through this process that you wish you’d known before you created your startup?</b><br> Talk to someone smarter than you. The biggest mistake we can make with self-improvement is to be too introverted and not put ourselves out there.</span></p> <p><span class="p-body"><b>What does the future of your startup look like in an ideal world?</b><br> Everyone is living in Gulch units. Even on Mars!</span></p>
