What product or service does Clairdoc offer?
Clairdoc is an AI denial-prevention copilot for outpatient clinics. It scans visit notes and claims against payer policies, coding rules, and historical denial data to catch and fix billing errors before submission. By reducing denials and automating compliance checks, Clairdoc helps clinics shorten A/R cycles, improve clean-claim rates, and protect revenue — all without changing their existing EHR.

How did you come up with the idea for this business?
I previously ran a medical billing company serving 400+ doctors and saw firsthand how much revenue clinics lose from denials caused by small documentation or coding mistakes. I realized the process was ripe for automation — not replacement of billers, but giving them AI tools that prevent denials before they happen.

Why did you decide to participate in the HI Hub Incubator program?
I wanted to refine Clairdoc’s go-to-market strategy, connect with NYU mentors, and prepare for institutional pilots and fundraising. The Incubator community brings together entrepreneurs and experts who can help accelerate both technical development and business growth.

What do you enjoy most about creating your own startup?
The freedom to turn real-world problems into scalable solutions. I love seeing how an idea born from frustration can evolve into technology that genuinely helps doctors, billers, and patients.

What advice would you give to someone contemplating founding a startup?
Start small, validate fast, and stay obsessed with the problem — not just the product. The best ideas often come from frustrations you’ve lived through yourself.

What is something you hope to learn through this process?
How to scale responsibly — balancing rapid AI development with healthcare compliance and sustainability. I also want to sharpen my leadership and fundraising skills as Clairdoc grows.

What does the future of your startup look like in an ideal world?
Clairdoc becomes the ChatGPT for Billing.

Have you worked with any alumni or mentors on this project? If so, who and what was that experience like?
Yes — we’ve worked with NYU Langone clinicians like Dr. Asma Shukat on validating the problem and making sure our solution is clinician-oriented and Professor Alexander who’s CISO at VillageCare on making sure we’re HIPPA compliant and secure along with several mentors from the NYU Entrepreneurial Institute. Their feedback has been invaluable in shaping our product for real clinical use.
