Sardinia and Milan
Step into the heart of Italian sport and culture through this immersive, place-based course designed for students interested in the global sport industry. From Sardinia’s stunning coastal landscape to Milan’s powerhouse football clubs, this program blends classroom learning with behind-the-scenes access to Italy’s most iconic teams and venues.
Throughout this Global Field Intensive, students will examine how sport operates as both a business and a cultural force in Italy. Through visits to professional clubs like AC Milan, Juventus, and Cagliari Calcio, as well as cultural excursions and conversations with industry leaders, students will gain a nuanced understanding of how identity, community, and globalization intersect in the world of sport.
This hybrid course begins with a virtual kickoff session and continues with on-the-ground exploration across two regions of Italy. With site visits, executive briefings, museum tours, and immersive cultural experiences (including an Italian cooking workshop and a basketball day with a local nonprofit), students will apply theory in real-world contexts and build intercultural competency through shared learning.
