Learning Design: Fundamentals

This foundational course focuses on how adult learners take in and retain information. Students will develop skills in learning design, whether the training they will create will be synchronous or asynchronous; formal or informal. Students will explore key principles of adult learning theory, will review how memory and motivation contribute to learner engagement, will determine the best approaches for learning transfer, and will successfully navigate the current terrain of workplace learning and performance. In addition, students will gain an understanding of Learning & Development roles and how to continuously grow as learning professionals.
