<p><i>Honored in the inaugural class of the NYU SPS Hall of Fame posthumously.</i></p>
<p>Bart Lawson, a 1992 graduate of the NYU School of Professional Studies, Paul McGhee Division, was a distinguished member of the alumni community of NYU. During his lifetime, he made generous contributions of time and financial support to provide support to NYU’s student body, particularly those interested in health care and humanitarian endeavors.</p>
<p>Mr. Lawson dedicated his energy to solving healthcare problems. He was president and executive director of the Greater NY Healthcare Facilities Association, founder of Care Plus, a healthcare organization dedicated to providing care for NYC’s underserved populations, served on both Democrat and Republican mayoral and gubernatorial transition teams, and was an integral part of New York State’s Medicaid Task Force. He also served as an ambassador for Grenada’s Mission to the United Nations. Using his resources and expertise, he worked hard to make the world a better place by dedicating his energies to solving healthcare inequity.</p>
