Dr. Lisa DiCaprio is a Clinical Associate Professor of Social Sciences and the Associate Director of Curriculum. Dr. DiCaprio teaches two courses that she developed, Green Design and the Future of Organizations and NYC: The Future Metropolis. She obtained a Ph.D. in European and Women's History from Rutgers University. Dr. DiCaprio is the Conservation Chair of the Sierra Club NYC Group and a member of its Executive Committee. She is the co-recipient of an NYU Office of Sustainability 2013 Green Grant for organizing an NYU-wide conference, Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Sustainability, and a March 2018 City Council Herstory Award for her environmental advocacy in the City Council. Dr. DiCaprio was nominated for the award by Council Member Helen Rosenthal who represents her in the City Council. She has published on a variety of historical, international human rights, and sustainability topics.
