Michael "Woody" Woodward thinks of himself as such, and has recently joined our faculty as a clinical assistant professor for the new MS in Executive Coaching and Organizational Consulting (ECOC) program. We're delighted to share more about Dr. Woody's background and the skills and experiences he will bring to the classroom.</span></p>
The Makings of a Thought Leader
<p><span class="p-body">Dr. Woody is an organizational psychologist, executive coach, author, and media personality whose mission is to "help create a healthier, more blended work-life experience by tapping into the psychology behind living a productive, meaningful, and fulfilling life." He has a Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Miami, a Master's in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Springfield College, and a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Florida International University.</span></p>
<p><span class="p-body">While at FIU, Dr. Woody published award-winning research on teamwork titled Cooperation and Competition: The Effects of Team Entrainment and Reward Structure, earning him an appointment as a Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) Scholar.</span></p>
<p><span class="p-body">Dr. Woodward served as a founding faculty member with the Florida International University (FIU) Center for Leadership and is also on faculty at the Institute for Management Studies, where he has trained managers from BOSE, MetLife, Verizon, and the NBA.</span></p>
A Work-life Expert in the Classroom
<p><span class="p-body">As an executive coach and organizational consultant, Dr. Woodward focuses on building leadership capacity and has worked with senior leaders from Bacardi, SAP, and The Miami Herald, among many others. Before founding his firm in 2005, Dr. Woodward served as an HR consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting (PwC) and a project manager for IBM Business Consulting Services. He has also been an advisor to the Ernst & Young (EY) Entrepreneur of the Year and Entrepreneurial Winning Women programs and a thought leader in the IBM Smarter Workforce Futurist program.</span></p>
<p><span class="p-body">As the author of the book The YOU Plan and a regular contributor to Psychology Today, he has appeared on camera over 350 times, including on The TODAY Show, LIVE with Kelly, and CNN. Publications like The Wall Street Journal, Miami Herald, Forbes, and Entrepreneur have quoted him as a work-life expert as he shares the psychology behind organizational structures and more..</span></p>
