The City and the Campus
I chose NYU for its academic challenge and global reputation, but what really sold me was its campus "in and of the city." I loved the idea of diving headfirst into the bustling world of New York without the typical college campus bubble. It was my chance to push myself in a completely different environment from where I grew up, navigating a whole new way of life and learning along the way."
Working in the Real World
I took an awesome Real World Marketing course with Timberland, where we worked in teams to build 360° marketing plans from the ground up. It was my first real experience tackling a client brief, and learning the process as a student—without the 'real-world' pressure—was incredibly valuable. It gave me a solid foundation that really helped when I started working on RFPs later on."
Trusting the Process
Keep yourself completely open to new experiences and opportunities. Figuring out what you don't want to do can be just as exciting as figuring out what you want to do. Also—trust the process. You will end up where you are supposed to be, and your first job is not your last job."
