Dear NYU SPS Community,

We’re in the home stretch of the fall semester! As we wind down 2024, it can feel like assignments, responsibilities, and the tasks on your to-do lists are ramping up—but, I know you will finish strong.

I’d like to extend a huge congratulations to the over 600 graduate and 100 undergraduate students who will be finishing their degrees at the end of December! This investment in yourself is an important milestone and please take the time to reflect and revel in the accomplishment.

With the year coming to a close, we mark the conclusion of NYU SPS’s 90th anniversary. For nearly a century, NYU SPS has been built on a promise to help working professionals access knowledge and build paths toward greater economic opportunity. I look forward to seeing how you carry our legacy into the world. You will continue to innovate and evolve top industries and companies that will change the world around us.

The goal of our curriculum is to prepare students to solve problems facing leading organizations while building high-impact skills and relationships for a durable professional career.

As you shape your professional future, I encourage you to explore the approach of “designing your life” through design thinking principles. I recently outlined ways you can apply these principles in how you approach your next career steps over on my LinkedIn.

I’m proud to share that the MS in Project Management degree was recertified by the international Project Management Institute (PMI). The industry recognition for the quality of the program is a good example of the curriculum excellence we prioritize. Through the certification, MS in Project Management students are eligible to sit for a PMI credential exam—a valued and coveted credential that can be leveraged even before graduation!

I’d like to express my gratitude to the staff who participated in the inaugural Peoplehood x NYU SPS cohort this fall. The program provided an opportunity to share, listen, and learn through key communication skills. The individuals who engaged in the program are directly strengthening our working relationships and our culture to ensure our community feels supported, connected, and inspired to do our best work.

As we head into the winter break and take a well-deserved respite from the perpetual motion of our everyday lives, I hope you find time to relax and enjoy time with family and friends. I look forward to welcoming you back in 2025, ready to take on the spring semester.

Warmly,
